Function&Application
Triptorelin is a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist that is a potent inhibitor of the synthesis of estrogen (in women) and is used to treat advanced prostate cancer. It is D-tryptophan substitution at residue 6. It is a medication that causes stimulation of the pituitary, thus decreasing secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).
